“ONE WHO SERVES MANKIND , SERVES GOD “ – Swami Vivekananda
Social work is a professional and academic discipline committed to the pursuit of social welfare, social change and social justice, to the development of the potential of each individual, group and community of a society.
To serve mankind is to serve God , and what better way to show our gratitude by serving and helping the ones in need, in our own small ways. The students showed their social responsibility towards the under-privileged section of the society by distributing old clothes and newspapers . This was a nice way of commemorating the ‘Social Service Day.
The students also conducted an assembly based on the theme “Share and Care” (by class II-E) where they showcased the value of sharing and caring in different ways for these deprived people.
Van Mahotsav is an annual pan-Indian tree planting festival, occupying a week in the month of July. During this event millions of trees are planted. The main objective of celebrating tree plantation week was to focus people's attention on the national importance of planting trees and to make them tree-conscious.
Nursery took an endeavour to celebrate Van Mahotsav Day through an activity (colouring, cotton and finger printing). In the scrap book, out line of a tree was drawn. Children coloured the trunk and did cotton and finger printing on it. On that day they also planted a sapling.
Children enjoyed both the activities a lot. They all had great fun.
